Free Public Speaker Series
Organic Week @ Home Speaker Series invites the public to learn more about how organics can be integrated into daily life.
This exciting speaker series will feature experts from Wellington and across the country as they conversely demonstrate how the four guiding principles of organics — health, fairness, ecology and care — impact our daily lives.
Matatika/Fairness and Ngātahi/Care - Organics In Sustainable Communities
Healthy societies are based on equality, respect, and justice for all living things. This principle emphasises that those involved in organic agriculture should conduct human relationships in a manner that ensures fairness at all levels and to all parties.
The principle of Ngātahi, or Care, is based on the belief that a healthy future means caring for the generations to come by protecting and restoring land and water to good health.
This panel will take an in-depth look at the role organics plays in healthy, sustainable communities — from clean land and water, to healthy kai grown in community gardens.
