October 2022 edition of The BUZZ, Organic Aotearoa's monthly newsletter
Hello and welcome to the October edition of The Buzz, OANZ's monthly dose of news from the organic sector and beyond.
A huge thank you to everyone who attended the OANZ AGM in person and online via zoom. We have prepared our Annual Report to communicate OANZ's financial and operational activities over the last year and to demonstrate the significant impact of our small and growing organisation. Please consider becoming a member so we can continue this vital work. Join Today!
I want to welcome Alistair Schorn to the OANZ board of directors. Alistair brings a wealth of knowledge, passion and experience to the OANZ board. He is an economist specialising in sustainability and well-being economics and brings to OANZ extensive market and business development knowledge, policy development, analysis and advocacy. Welcome to the team Alistair; we are grateful to have you onboard!
I am still fizzing after the wonderful Organic Action Day. A big thank you to everyone who came along. It is time to change how we farm, and we believe regenerative organic agriculture has the answer. The Action Day provided a space for Aotearoa's organic community to kōrero about how and why, and I think it's fair to say we all came away inspired and invigorated.
A big thanks to our Action Day sponsors, presenters and speakers. Having Karen Mapasua and Dr Jessica Hutchings in the house was an absolute privilege; thank you for sharing your wisdom and knowledge. Thank you to our CEO Tiffany Tompkins who pulled the whole event together and for facilitating the organic action groups over the last six months. The building blocks for Sector growth are now in place, and it was great to see Action Day participants engaged, fired up, and supportive of the work.
It was indeed a weekend of organic action. It was great to be present for the Soil & Health AGM. I am thankful for all the work they continue to do for the Organic Sector and consumers.
